The Thurrock SSP Leadership Academy is run at William Edwards School for Year 9 students.  Students are invited to apply towards to end of year 8 to be part of the academy.

Being part of the Leadership Academy involves committing to participating in interventions. The interventions consist of a range of workshops delivered through the School Sport Partnership, opportunities to support competitions, sports events and festivals and complete sport specific courses enabling you to gain qualifications.

All students complete their Level 1 in Sports Leadership through The Leadership Skills Foundation, which is a nationally recognised award.
